Gender & Diversity Impact Manager

The role 

In your role as Gender & Diversity Impact Manager, you will provide advisory to organizations, ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises (SME’s) to multinationals, social enterprises and NGO’s so they can enhance their social impact on women through their business models.  These can be early-stage or growth-stage companies, who are developing products, services or marketing & distribution strategies targeted at low-income women in Africa and Asia.

Examples of organizations you may advise:

  • Digital platform that supports smallholder farmers and is looking to increase their reach to low-income women. 

  • Child-care provider who wants to include low-income women both as care workers and care customers in its business operations

  • Non-profit accelerator programme looking to design better agribusiness support programmes for women entrepreneurs


Qualifications

  • Bachelor or (preferably) Masters degree in Gender Studies, Product Design, Behavioural Science, Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience advising companies on inclusive business strategies and business cases, with a focus on improving the inclusion of women.

  • Knowledge and first-hand experience in leading and/or implementing women-centered design approaches, including carrying out research, co-creation, prototyping, piloting and reporting in a gender-responsive manner. 

  • Experience making acceleration or innovation programs more gender-inclusive

  • Knowledge and first-hand experience with the challenges and opportunities of including low-income women in business models in Africa or Asia.

  • Empathy with the BoP as value seeking consumers and motivated entrepreneurs (not as beneficiaries) and a strong curiosity to better understand the gendered realities within low-income markets.

  • Ability to work, lead workshops and conduct training sessions with diverse stakeholders;  leaders of multinationals, entrepreneurs, rural micro-entrepreneurs, government, development players.

  • Affinity with the purpose of Bopinc.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Valid work permit in the respective country.
