The role 

Bopinc is looking for a partnerships and project development manager to join our global Partnerships team. You will broker new partnerships, manage existing partnerships, develop new projects and write proposals. You will work across the organization's sectors and expertise areas -  in agriculture, nutrition and renewable energy - and on cross-cutting themes like circularity, women’s entrepreneurship and digital innovation. You will also work on implementing projects with our global team.

Responsibilities for partnerships and project development (40%)

  • Coordinate the development and co-write full proposals for medium to large scale projects (€1M+ contract value)  

  • Manage key accounts

  • Connect to our internal experts to learn about expertise areas and include the newest ideas and innovations into our proposals. 

  • Support the Global Head of Partnerships in overseeing and monitoring quality of the portfolio of partnerships and business development efforts to grow our project portfolio.

  • Support learning of global team members on partnerships and proposal development.

  • With the Partnerships team facilitate account managers to deliver the best value for our clients.

  • Attend partner events on behalf of Bopinc.

Responsibilities project implementation (40%)

  • Manage projects in which we strengthen inclusive business models.

  • Lead distributed teams, interacting with donors and ensuring quality implementation, evaluation and reporting within budget.

  • Provide business advisory to companies, ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises (SME’s) to multinationals, and social enterprises so they can enhance their commercial viability and social impact.  These can be early-stage or growth-stage companies, who are developing products and services targeted at low-income populations in Africa and Asia.

Other responsibilities (20%)

  • Participate in internal learning sessions, sharing project learnings and gaining insights for future projects and programs.

  • Participate in team building and organizational development activities.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with new partnership and project development; project design and proposal writing in the international development sector. 

  • Bachelor's or (preferably) master's degree in Business, Social Sciences, Sustainable Innovation, Marketing, Management, or a related field.

  • 7+ years work experience in Bopinc’s expertise areas (Product and service design, Marketing, Distribution and/or Business Model Innovation). At minimum a demonstrated understanding of business and ability to provide business advisory to companies. 

  • Project management experience

  • Demonstrated experience and passion for low-income consumers and private sector development.

  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders; government, development players, large multinationals, and rural small entrepreneurs.

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

  • A relevant network of potential partners for Bopinc is a bonus

  • Specific knowledge and experience in the organization's sectors of work and cross cutting themes as outlined in the role.

  • Affinity with the mission of Bopinc.

  • Valid work permit for The Netherlands.
